We are manufacturing in the range of 100 gms to maximum 15 kg type Silica gel breather in either Orange or Blue Gel contents as per Customer Requirements.

  • Top & Bottom  : Aluminium Cast with powder Coated 
  • Cylinder           : Acrylic cylinder clear view type  (For Export we will use Polycarbonate cylinder) 
  • Rod          : M 8 Threaded Rod with Zinc coated 
  • O ring  : Rubber O ring for Top & Bottom for air tightening 
  • Oil cup  : Polycarbonate oil cup
  • Silica Gel  : Orange or Blue (As per Customer Requirement)

What is a Silicagel Breather?

A silicagel breather is a cylindrical device filled with moisture-absorbing silica gel crystals. These crystals change color as they absorb moisture—commonly from blue to pink or orange to green—indicating the saturation level of the silicagel breather.

The silicagel breather is attached to the conservator tank of the transformer, and as the transformer breathes (due to oil expansion/contraction), air passes through the silicagel breather, where moisture is trapped.

 How Does a Silicagel Breather Work?

  1. The transformer breathes due to oil level fluctuations caused by temperature changes.

  2. External air, which contains moisture, is pulled into the conservator tank.

  3. The silica gel breather filters this incoming air.

  4. The silica gel inside the silicagel breather absorbs the moisture and allows only dry air to enter.

  5. This process keeps the insulating oil dry and prevents internal damage.
